Child abuse is more than bruises, cigarette burns or broken bones.
While physical abuse is easily noticed due to the scars it leaves, not all child abuse is as obvious. Ignoring children’s rights, needs or making a child feel worthless is also seen as child abuse. Regardless of the type of abuse – emotional, physical, mental and sexual, it results in serious, long-lasting emotional harm.
The Acorn Foundation is proud to support children’s homes, foster homes and places of safety, to create a warm loving home environment for them to live in, ensuring that the children receive medical attention, food, clothing and an education, to mention just a few and by providing trained and accredited social workers to implement the Cchildren’s Aact, giving cChildren the vVoice that they so richly deserve.
